Michal Dobiáš has been advising clients at our firm since 2010. Since 2015, he has been doing so as a fully qualified attorney registered with the Czech Bar Association.
Real Estate and Construction
Michal has advised corporate clients involved in large real estate transactions with regard to both share purchases and asset purchases. He has facilitated financing and refinancing from both Czech and foreign financial institutions for our clients and has participated in and led numerous due diligence procedures for both sellers and buyers.
Michal has also assisted real estate developers in a broad range of relevant issues, from drafting reservation and purchase agreements to negotiating agreements for work by contractors.
Smaller clients appreciate his efficient and meticulous approach to the purchase and sale of houses and apartments.
Litigation
Michal has also represented clients in a number of commercial disputes. In some cases he has been able to conclude mutually advantageous settlements, in other cases he represented his clients’ interests in litigation before Czech courts. He has experience with all the stages of civil procedure in Czech courts.
In addition to our commercial litigation practice, Michal also represents individual clients in personal injury cases, in order to obtain redress for traffic accidents and medical malpractice.
Employment Law
Michal is further responsible for our employment law team, which prepares all types of employment contracts for corporate clients, incorporating into them terms tailored to the specifics of the relationship between the parties. He can recommend to employers effective yet sensitive ways to terminate an employment relationship, while he has also represented employees in cases of unlawful termination. He is of course fully qualified to represent clients in all other kinds of employment litigation.

As far as the affairs of individual clients are concerned, Michal is an expert in the field of wills and estate planning. In his practice he helps foreigners structure their last wills and testaments, especially where the client’s life involves more than one national jurisdiction. He also renders advice to foreign clients on the establishment of foundations and trusts in the Czech Republic. Michal has extensive experience in protecting his clients’ rights throughout the course of probate proceedings, which can include locating the decedent’s property, representing heirs in the proceedings themselves and negotiating settlements among several heirs.
