Josef focuses primarily on banking, finance and capital markets. His area of practice also includes insolvency and restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining rutland & partners, Josef worked for ten years at White & Case in Prague and three years at Havel & Holásek, leading the firm’s banking, finance and capital markets practice.
In the course of his banking, finance and capital markets practice, Josef has advised domestic and international financial institutions and other clients in connection with securities offerings, takeover bids, stock exchange listings, syndicated lending, acquisition finance, derivatives trading and related regulatory issues.
Financing
Josef also substantially focuses on legal regulation of derivatives and other complex financial products and represented a wide range of financial institutions (including major international investment banks), corporations, governmental agencies and municipalities in this area.
Capital Markets
Josef is also top-ranking specialist on Czech capital market. He participated in numerous private and public bond offerings and IPOs.

In its 2006 Chambers Global Guide, Josef was named as a leading individual in the Czech Republic for banking and finance. In 2008 editions of Chambers Europe and IFLR 1000 Josef was recommended as a Czech legal expert in the area of banking & finance, capital markets, private equity and corporate law. Also, he was awarded in 2013 and 2014 by the Legal 500 publication in the area of banking, finance and capital markets.
Josef is a member of the Capital Markets Appeal Committee of the Czech National Bank.
