Following his position of a senior associate at White & Case Prague office, Mr. Balada has founded a successful mid-sized law firm Ueltzhöffer Balada that now carries forward as UEPA advokáti s.r.o.
Following rewarding years with Ueltzhöffer Balada in the position of a founding partner and a team leader and subsequent well deserved sabbatical, Mr. Balada has joined rutland ježek, attorneys at law, in 2016 as a counsel.
During his career, Mr. Balada focused on various fields of law and litigation for mainly business clientele, while his clients included major corporations and investment funds local and international alike.
Real Estate and Construction
Jan has extensive experience with legal and financial aspects of development, financing and operation of all kinds of commercial real estates (shopping malls, office blocks, logistic centers), development of residential projects in all stages of the projects (preparatory phase, including due diligence, construction phase, operation phase and sale of the project) and projects for the development of renewable energy sources, namely solar and wind parks, and biogas stations.
Jan has also advised and represented numerous clients in administrative and court proceedings in matters connected with the planning phase of real estate projects and he is deemed to be of the top specialist in Czech Republic in the field of administrative litigation.
Litigation
Besides other fields, Mr. Balada has a strong practice and extensive experience with various types of litigation and enforcement.
Jan has been representing local and international clients both on the plaintiff and defendant side in a number of lawsuits in every type of civil procedure the Czech law provides for, including administrative actions.
Jan´s litigation experience encompasses various types of cases based in civil, business and commercial law, including administrative litigation against Czech tax offices.
White Collar Crime
Due to his extensive litigation experience, Jan is also specializing in defense related to white collar crime, namely embezzlement, tax evasion, bribery, unfair competition, breach of obligation by management of somebody else´s property and other economic crimes.
